Rugby World Cup 2015 Teams and Groups All Details

A total of 20 teams around the world will take part in Rugby World Cup 2015. This is the eighth edition of Rugby Union World Championship starting from 18th September. Rugby World Cup 2015 Teams were announced by the International Rugby Board on 26th August, 2015. England to host the tournament this time and 13 Stadiums will be used to organize it. Twickenham Stadium of London will host the final on 31st October, 2015.

Out of the 20 teams, 12 were chosen by their pools position (Top Three) in Rugby World Cup 2011. The rest of the teams qualified after playing regional competition. There is only one change in the teams list of Rugby World Cup 2015 from the previous edition, Russia didn’t qualify for the tournament and Uruguay took its place.

The teams list of RWC 2015 are exactly the same as 2003’s World Cup and it is almost same as the previous edition of Rugby World Cup, only Uruguay qualified in place of Russia this time.

Rugby World Cup 2015 Pools and Full Groups Details

At the initial stage of the tournament, teams will be competing in four different Rugby World Cup 2015 Pools. Each group will be having 10 matches and in Rugby World Cup 2015 groups, each team will play a single match against the other teams of its own pool. In a rugby match teams are granted 4 points for one win, none for a loss and 2 points for a draw. Teams also have chance of getting bonus points in match if it score more than three tries in one match.

The top two teams of RWC 2015 Pools will go to the next stage of the tournament. Nevertheless, the top three teams of RWC 2015 groups will automatically qualify for the next edition of Rugby World Cup. The teams of 2015 Rugby World Cup are divided into different groups according to their band and world ranking. As the top four teams according the International Rugby Board ranking are spited in four different 2015 Rugby World Cup Pools.
